Utah Lantern Festival 2017

temp-post-image

It's been a while since I've blogged but I'm hoping I'll be better about it from now on... :)

I went to the Lantern Festival with my Boyfriend and one of my best friends last Saturday and let me tell you it was mesmerizing. I've been wanting to go since I've heard about the first time but could never make it for one reason or another... So this time I booked the tickets early and kept the day marked off in my busy calendar to make sure I was going to make it... It was absolutely beautiful even with a huge crowd... Luckily we got there early so we could pick our fireplace without any issues... And then it was waiting time... Luckily there were several food trucks and vendors to go check out.....

Tony Grove Lake Adventures

Last Sunday my boyfriend and I went up to Tony Grove Lake since I had a little cabin fever. Thank god for my boyfriend who always knows what I need when I get antsy… Some camera time away from people… Since we decided to stop and grab a coffee up in Logan and the only place that was open was Hastings, we ended up leaving way later than planned (I just can’t leave a bookstore wi...

Moab Road Trip Adventures

My friend and I went on one of our photography road trips this last weekend. We’ve decided a while ago to go to Moab again… We both love Moab… And there is always something new to see and take pictures off. We decided this time to go already on Friday earlier in the day so that we could make it in time for some daylight still. (Usually we leave after we are both done with our full time jobs which means we get to Moab in the dark… ) Once we checked into our hotel we took off into Arches National Park. We did get there right on time and were able to get a few sunset shots.

And then there were 4…

I recently got asked if I could do a quick family portrait for a friend of mine (who happens to be also my amazing boss at my full time day job) and I said “sure, not a problem”. So after we decided on a date and time I asked her if she has a specific idea of how she want’s the picture done. She told me yes and that she would have all the props for it. She didn’t tell me anything else so I just went with the flow. 🙂 We decided to meet at Farmington’s Station Park. I knew that one part of the props was her family eating ice cream and that she wanted to have the pictures done in front of some wooden doors. Once I got there I started getting all my gear set up (st...

A little bit about me… / Why I do what I do…

This post will be a little different…

As some of you know I’m originally from Germany. I’ve moved to the USA in 2003. I’ve received a job offer and decided to take it. So I packed my two suitcases and moved to Utah. Before I came to Utah I’ve never even heard of Utah, but I’ve been blessed enough to be able to visit America several times beforehand.

I’ve always loved visiting and seeing all the different National Parks. America is very different from Germany in many ways. And if you look at Utah specifically it’s culturally really different. I’ve had to adjust big time. I’ve struggled with the differences several times but I do love ...

Sun Tunnels Adventures

Have you ever been to the Sun Tunnels in Utah? No? Well, you are not the only one. Actually, I’ve never even heard of them until a few months ago and I have lived in Utah for 13 years by now. 🙂

If you would like to read up on them here is a link: http://utah.com/wendover/sun-tunnels

Basically these are concrete Pipes that are aligned to have the effect of light bouncing through them during the two yearly solstices.
“Two of the Sun tunnels align with the setting and rising sun during the summer solstice and two line up during the winter solstice.”

Someone posted a picture of them in one of the facebook groups I’m in and so my friend and I decided that we should go and che...
